[TheForge] anvil repair

Hey all,
    I know this has been discussed but i didn't pay attention and now I
need the advice. I have a divot in my anvil.  Can I use my lincoln stick
welder to fill it and then smooth it with the grinder?  Will it be too
brittle? Will I screw up the anvil? Should I just continue to live with
it?
