I use angle iron for a lot of my hardy stems
heavy stuff works best say 5 mm wall 30x30 or so
I cut a piece say 15mm long and flatten one end a little so that end no
longer fits through the hardy, then I hammer it in till the flared part of
the angle iron is level with the face of the anvil, this will set the "fit"
,you can open it up a little to make it a firmer fit
then just weld this onto the bottom of your tool
Im sure others do it this way too but I thought it was a pretty simple and
good idea
