[Test-Equipment] Need recommendations for an HC-6 & FT-243 tester

Hi Doug:

Crystal activity meters let you know that the crystal oscillates, but don't give you any parameters.  They are usually 
low in cost, small and battery powered.

Although some of these simple circuits allow connecting a frequency counter to see a frequency, it's not an accurate way 
to get the frequency when the crystal is installed in some specific equipment. The load capacity needs to be correct to 
get the correct operating frequency or the crystal needs to be operated in the series mode and tested in that mode if 
that's how the equipment operates.

Crystal Impedance Meters allow characterizing the crystal.  They usually are higher priced, larger and line powered.
