find a 427A one of the best analogue meters for under $50. If it has to have
tubes, a 410B or the much improved 410C for around $100.

Well, the big meter is attractive, as I don't see as well as I once did (I'm
74), but the prices I'm seeing for the 410B in working order are a lot
closer to $200. I had a couple of HP VTVM's of the 400D type, but they both
went pffft, and I didn't feel competent to try to fix them. The Hickok looks
to be within my pay grade for repairing. Maybe I should be asking the list
about the HP's.
