Other then the "cool" of the size of the meter, what is the attraction ?

One can get a 5 digit HP 3478A for < $75 if you take your time and you can
find a 427A one of the best analogue meters for under $50. If it has to
have tubes, a 410B or the much improved 410C for around $100.
