[Test-Equipment] Another boat anchor - Del Electric High voltage supply?

Perhaps I'm completely lost then.  Since EVERY Hi-Pot set I've seen is 
indeed DC.

This going back some 40+ years.  I've used them on BIG transformers.  
Those that go up to the MVA ratings, muck less KVA ratings.  I've NEVER 
seen an AC Hi-Pot!  They would seem to be a bit useless.
