[Test-Equipment] UPS damage to test equipment.

In my experience the only way to ship TE or other electronics via UPS is to
go to their collection center (NOT to franchised "UPS Stores" or office
supply centers etc.) and have UPS pack it themselves. They (at least at
one time) offered "foam-in-place" packaging, where UPS forms a clamshell of
expanded foam on top & bottom of the item and then double-boxes it. Not
only is it very robust packaging, but since they packaged it, they cannot
realistically deny any damage claims.
Foam-in-place *isn't* cheap...probably on the order of $50-60 for an item
like a 141, and then shipping on top of that.
Or...don't use UPS. IMHO they suck.
