Robert,
Sorry if you thought I was trying to insult you. Actually you are
one of the people one these lists that I have a good deal of respect
for. Once again I forgot to add a smiley face.
I am well aware, to my cost, that the telephone line allows surges to
burn out equipment. My set up now has a good quality UPS connected
through a good quality surge protector and the phone lines going through both
units. I don't buy 6 dollar surge protectors and even with the
better quality ones I know that they are usually only good for one
jolt. I'd rather burn out a 40 dollar surge suppressor than a 2000
dollar computer or radio.
I can't afford a 500 dollar surge suppressor or line conditioner but
I do the best I can. Poor people have poor ways. And I don't wear a
20 dollar helmet. :-) :-)
73 Gary and I do mean "best wishes".
