HI, this thing about test benches needs another note, I like to have
isolation from the rest of the house so each bench is fed to a
Wiremold plug strip thrru an isolation tx. These are commercial
transformers used in machine tools and come in some husky sixes.
They are used to step down the 240 or 480 to lower voltages in their
normal use. Normally the have a dual voltage primary and a dual voltage
secondary.
Set the primary to the 240 connection and he secondary to the 240
connection, you now have a 1 to one transformer,
The regulation will be good and since there is no ground connection the
shock hazard is not there. and the power line connected noise is much
lower.
A good source will be used factory machinery or some scrap metal dealers.
