   I have a better idea, use the old cable to pull in a new COLOR CODED
cable as you pull out the original non color coded cable.
(especially if this is an old telephone cable where the colors
usually switch every 200 feet)
   I prefer Alpha cable, it uses the RETMA colors instead of spots.
