[TenTec] OT: reconditioning or junking an Argo 509?

Hello, how you doing?

My mishuided eBay purchase of this Argonaut 509 with power supply needs to
be looked at first before I spend to have it shipped to get it
reconditioned. Ju DL2ZAE  said he will do it - but my fear is that it might
be a piece of junk.

If it is, then I might as well junk it.

Is someone bored and would like to take a look? Am happy to pay onward
shipping plus $ 25 for looking and sharing your findings. If it's BAD, then
I might as well forget it rather than ship it overseas etc.

Or would you take the opportunity to try the service in Servierville?

Not sure how much an Argonaut in good condition is worth? I paid $ 162.50
shipped and the Omni V from Tom N4RS will be $ 685 shipped.

One last Q: Is there a way to turn the Omni V into an Omni VI at the
factory? It's 50 (mhz?) technology and boards are interchangeable, aren't
they? Should I have the Omni V shipped to the factory? As I keep hearing
amazing things about an Omni VI with all filters.

Chris HS/KF6VCI (I kinda like the call in CW and will get on the air tonight
around 7 am Zulu or 23 hours PST on 14.058 mhz. Not sure if I'll work NA,
