Is the front panel antenna switch set to main or to auxiliary? Does it
receive better with the antenna connected to the auxiliary connector?
Then its back to that receiver antenna select switch. Section 1-2 and
3-5.15 in the manual. Your other questions show you haven't read the
manual, get thee to the Tentec obsolete manuals page and down load it.
READ IT then try the radio again. This is not your kitchen clock radio,
its very versatile, and so complex and its controls don't all work like
a rice box radio's controls.
The receiver and transmitter share many modules and both are made of
several boards. Once you read the manual you will find the details of those.
Most filters plug in, there is NO mod to dropping in Inrad filters which
may or may not be better than Tentec filters. I think there is an Inrad
audio mod that is a true radio modification which is probably far less
of a value than a filter selection and since with the pass band tuning
you can achieve any narrow filter result for bandwidth with the stock
SSB filters, a CW filter isn't all that essential based on my Corsair II
which uses the same filter and IF bandpass tuning scheme.
