Those along with the bandswitch wafers/indexes seem to be the big
gotcha items at this
time. I am very lucky in that my Omni C seems to have seen very
little use in its life, and is
in absolutely perfect condition cosmetically and
electrically/mechanically. I have no doubt that
if it has survived its nearly 30 years in that condition with good
care, I can treat it very well and
expect the same service from it for quite some time in the future. As
for the parts availability
issue in the future, it seems my best bet is to try to obtain parts
rigs as I can, and have a
stock of available parts in those.
