Jon,
Thanks for the encouragement.  Sounds like its worth a try.  I was most 
concerned as to getting the carrier balance right, if it needed 
adjustment.  Regarding the Corsair, (I had one), the early model (Brown 
panel), had only a 4 or 6 pole? 2.4 filter in the first IF.  I put the 
optional 8 pole 2.4 in mine from TT and it really came alive, so if 
yours was the early model and you went to an Inrad, it should have been 
significant. The later "white face" Corsair II had the 8 pole as stock.
