Subject: [TAC] Comments on FP land

1. It sounds like our guying situation should best be handled by
rocks-and-bags. Does that make the TA33 impractical? Just food for
thought.

I think pounding rebar into the ground will work for guys.

2. Does having a vehicle make sense? We are going to be pretty tired,
and I'm guessing that we'll be making trips back and forth to the lumber
yard, grocery store, ACE Hardware, and restaurant. Daylight is limited,
and I hate to have to wait an hour for a bolt or a hunk of rope if we
have to walk. Just an idea. Plus we would have 12 volt backup to power
two rigs (or more) in the event of a power failure.

I'm sure having a vehicle would be practical at some point in our trip.

3. I note from the equipment list that I am very light on bringing any
equipment. I feel guilty. I offer to pay for the car rental (if need
be) to compensate.

I really don't see no bringing a lot of gear as being a problem. You can
still carry 140 pounds of stuff! ;-)

4. I will also give K8GT a call.

I'm trying to remember who k8gt is....

5. I have a 4 position "switch via the coax cable" Ameritron coax
switch that I will bring. That will be good for switching vert ant
directions or between the 80 and 10 meter antennas.

That will come in handy I'm sure.....
