[SOC] National Alert System & the SOC

Hi Guys, greetings from the West of Ireland land of the <S1 noise floor 
on HF.

A potentially daft question, but here goes
Would a transistorized SSB+2 "power mic",,plus a choice of FT-901DM, 
KWM-2A or ST-440SAT and either a FL-2100Z, 30L1 or TS-922 as power 
stage, qualify. Or would being about 35 miles in from the Atlantic and 
3100 EAST of the Brooklyn Bridge cause disqualification?

Another potentially daft question:
I joined the mailing list in 2014; they come through OK but 
intermittently as the ISP here is more than slightly cookee. But am I 
missing the action in some way; is there a SOC "club" beyond just the 
mailing list? As I can find any SOC number having been issued to us ?
