Even better than a Merlot would be a Merlot/Shiraz blend. There was one Aussie brand that sold such a blend but recently I've not been able to find it on the shelves.  Looks like I'll have to buy both wines and blend it myself. Perhaps starting with a 50/50 blend? Then going to a 75/25 blend?  Or maybe a 25/75 blend?
