[SOC] Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!

Ian - I had to nip across the room and look at my cheat-sheet to see
what 26C was (about 80F). After several mild winters we have 14" of
snow on the ground and it was -19F at the Cedar Rapids airport about two
weeks ago (winter began VERY briskly after a mild fall). It sounds like
we'll have a little light snow (and/or rain??) on Christmas Eve after
some fairly serious melt (I was worrying about an extremely large icicle
poised above my little satellite dish for most of a week)... Now you've
given me cause to remember my Christmases in California as a lad (after
living in various parts of the east coast, where they really had
winters). Hanging tinsel on a palm tree or shopping for Christmas in
shorts never seemed quite right. You lot in the upside-down hemisphere
have to do it all the time. Nonetheless, thanks for the good wishes and
have a Merry Christmas in your own perverse way! 73 Jan N0AAA #389
