Hi Bill - I'm trying to renew mine and can't get anywhere, yet it keeps
reminding me I should renew...crazy - 72 Bruce.

72/73 - Bruce ve5rc/ve5qrp - I believe in the KIS principle.

Subject: [SOC] Symantec arrogance

Symantec makes great products, but their treatment of customers sucks
and
their arrogance approaches that of Micro$soft.

I've been trying to renew/upgrade virus protection for over a month,
finally
succeeding well after service had expired. The package came bundled with
laptop a year ago and did not identify any product key. You can't move
forward in any renewal process unless you have the previous product key
and
you can't communicate with them without an account ID. There is no
"contact
us," only a "feedback" button which leads to a form that demands the
account ID before submission. Their radio button for renewal assistance
is
404. Plenty of adds to buy their 2005 product as a new start (more $)
and
everything circles back to these adds. Not sure how I finally
succeeded,
but banged away at their web site long enough to generate an account ID
and
that open up a page where finally found a mislabled jump that got me
somewhere useful. Worst case of "You can't get there from here" I've
ever
seen.
