You probably embarrassed them :)  They started thinking how much money 
they had wasted when all they really needed was an efficient setup like 
yours!  Way to go.  Proves skill and planning will beat throwing money at 
the problem any day of the week.  I'd put that one down in the logbook as 
proof of your innate intelligence.
