Here they always, and still do, mean a standard motor vehicle. The only
modification allowed are compulsory structural engineering alterations in the
form of a roll cage and side bars etc. for driver protection and removal of all
glass.
Max cost [was] all up, vehicle including compulsory modifications - $500
Always meant to be an affordable fun hobby for enthusiasts.
They're on every Saturday night somewhere. Loved them as a kid.
