Well put, I think. Like you, I consider SOC to be a group of people brought
together by a common interest - in this case it happens to be amateur radio.

The list is a forum for debate on issues of common interest. If there's no
interest then the thread dies. I can't remember when it last addressed a
subject on amateur radio...

I probably stoked the fire whilst trying to poke a little fun at Claude.
Maybe it backfired....

I find the by-and-large well informed opinion stimulating.
