Hi Adam / N7YA,

Your last post was a pleasure (!) to read. I mean you are "unfortunately" so
right... What you said abt your country is right for mine too, "of course".
The only difference (speaking only abt radio, the other stuff is too "touchy",
I will avoid it now) is that I am single (no -X-YL to cook me anything), no
armchair to rest on and no so expensive TRX but a good TS450S and my little gem
K1, both feeding a simple GP. But I am lucking enough to go at work in the
morning and go back home in the evening, in a warm apartment, where my radio is
waiting for me (or so do I think ;o)) to give me pleasure agn and agn.
Irony apart, one thing I will never accept too is the fact that one can critize
a DXpedition operator. My vy little experience (10 days in Saigon, VietNam, as
3W2KF, mono-op, March 2001) gave me a "real life" example of what it is when
you are on the "wrong" side of the pile-up. 3W is not VP6 by no way, that is
not the question but exactly bcoz 3W is a common one on air, I _can_ imagine
what it may be from a really rare spot !!
I was operating from an hotel, so it was a 3* DXpedition, not the "hard one"
under sun and rain, sleeping in bags among crabs and snakes.
Saying that DXers are w/o common sense is such an euphemism ...
Saying that DXers are blind and deaf is an other one.
But we all know that, we even are _part_ of that, and by some way it is part of
the game ...
I had there in Saigon/HCMC a wonderful experience I will never forget and
should I have the chance to do it again, I will not hesitate one second !
Two months later I was part of the team at JW0PK, EU-063. A completely
different kind of experience but it worths it too ;o)) BTW, on EU063 we _were_
in tents, under snow & heavy windy storms but with sunny days too. No human
being on the island except a gang of mad Ham ops, making some noise with
generators and trying to keep polar bears away from the camp.

Since then, I stay at home (not bcoz of the experience at JW0PK, hi hi !) but I
hope some day agn to be able to go "somewhere".

And ... oh yes .. Merci Beaucoup for your kind words and pse put on your hat
again, we are friends, we are ham friends, I am a young little pistol, so I
will be really confused if you go on removing your hat this way. Do not get a
cold, pse !
I just hope everybody will enjoy the "new" SOC web site I am planning to put
up. Do not worry, it will be almost the same, just making some "refreshing
toilet" here and there. "Soon on your screens" ...

And of course, all inputs are welcome, needed and appreciated !
