No I mean it won't boot period! :^))) I turn it on and all it does is beep
at me. Double checked the wiring, ram, cards, etc. Can't figure out what
the problem is. Oh well, I won't have to worry about that tomorrow
afternoon :^)
Right now for Linux I am (occasionally) using Grey Cat Linux 2.0. It's
about a 2.5 Meg UMSDOS installation. Works fine, except I can't get
anything to install :^) Came with FTP, Telnet, Links, and a e-mail program
that is a pain in the butt to reply to messages with. Pretty much just
enough to give you a taste of what Linux is like :^)
When I pick this thing up tomorrow I'll try and figure out what kind of
resources I have to play around with and then see about having a friend
burn me an install CD (assuming it's got a CD-ROM drive on it anyway...).
Will probably go with Mandrake or Redhat, but I'm more than open to
suggestions from the Linux gurus here :^)

Rob, do a Google search for "Peanut Linux", I think ver 8.4 will run on a
486. You may have to make a root and boot set of floppies. I used ver 9.1
for a while and it took less than 150 megs of HD space and booted just fine
with 80 megs of Ram. There is also a discussion forum that welcomes
"newbie" questions. I'm not sure but Mandrake 8.0 may run on a 486. I'm
using Red Hat 7.2 on a P200 and a 1.2 gig HD at present and it works fine.
