Rob, do a Google search for "Peanut Linux", I think ver 8.4 will run on a 486. You may have to make a root and boot set of floppies. I used ver 9.1 for a while and it took less than 150 megs of HD space and booted just fine with 80 megs of Ram. There is also a discussion forum that welcomes "newbie" questions. I'm not sure but Mandrake 8.0 may run on a 486. I'm using Red Hat 7.2 on a P200 and a 1.2 gig HD at present and it works fine.
