Good Morning,
I agree with all that has been stated so far. Heck, the guy (2 masters and a doctorate), who did the training had to drive back to Albuquerque after the training that evening, overnight stays were not permitted due to budgetary concerns. Money is tight everywhere.
I am a member of the county EMCOMM team, (who sponsored the training) and no there is not an organized team of spotters here as yet. The concern for our area is the accurate monitoring and reporting of conditions here, hence the concern that the NWS office recognize me and others as having been trained, and sincere in our endeavors to report accurate information, not something to hang on the wall.
Besides which it is a government agency afterall, things just move slowly in "the office", no problem. HiHi
I will just continue to wait and do what I can as the need and opportunity arises, thanks for all of the input from this thread, I have enjoyed it and found it informative.
p.s. I did not mean to kidnap the conversation from the original poster,

Thanks again,
