Dear SKYWARN Spotters,
The NWS SKYWARN program varies by office. The best way to see how SKYWARN
works in your area is to send an Email to the contact listed at
http://www.stormready.noaa.gov/contact.htm or visit weather.gov, click on
your area on the national map, then click on SKYWARN.
The MetEd training is excellent. However, unless you click the box to
notify your local NWS office, we will never see your name on a list we
receive every two weeks. Please be patient with your local office as we
have many other duties, including rotating shift work, and have a small
staff.
Are you looking to connect with other Spotters? Seek out your local
amateur radio club or join http://www.spotternetwork.org (it is like
SKYWARN for smartphones).
Finally, http://www.skywarn.org is a great resource (and includes a link to
this Email list).
Safe Storm Spotting!
Dan
