Subject: Response to MetEd_Support about "Advanced SKYWARN Spotter Training"
To: kc5fm at aol.com
The COMET Program in collaboration with the NWS built the online
SKYWARN Spotter Training Course on MetEd which you have graciously
encouraged HAM radio operators to take as seen on many different
forums. We greatly appreciate your interest in this program and
especially your help in gathering more spotters for the NWS and local
emergency management purposes through our online course.
While building the two modules on MetEd, we also worked with NWS to
create a curriculum for the "rest" of the SKYWARN Spotter online
training course. This included an "Advanced Convective SKYWARN Spotter
Training" among others. If funding becomes available from the NWS for
us to complete more modules in the proposed series, we will undertake
whichever lessons they would like us to focus on.
If you have other questions regarding the SKYWARN Spotter Training
Course or MetEd, feel free to let us know.
