This whole exchange highlights another reason why the EM community may be reticent in the use of hams. If we show a lack of professionalism here (which could be read by anyone), do you think that EMs want to associated with that?

On August 2nd I was reading my local new on AOL.
They mentioned a skywarn spotter class
It was dated to be held in MAY of 2011
I called the number to see if that was a typo and I was informed that
indeed the class was held last May
The number was also the State NJOEM and the were not able to give any
information on any other locations so since I do Search & Rescue I have more
rights to be out in hazard weather conditions and they can't really stop me
since I teach the skills and had my own training school for about 12 years.
You don't have to call NOAA.
Form your own certified team then call the local TV stations and they will
contact NOAA
Also after reading your very abrasive letter, calling people a moron,I don't
want to be any part of this crap.
I'm well known and respected in my area and do not have the need to be
hooked up to some foul mouthed list.
Have fun.

What you need to do is call or visit in person your local NOAA office and
talk to the head meteorologist, not a flunky intern.

"You don't have to call NOAA."
Then call the NWS, either way, they work together on the Spotter program,
I'm sure one of them can help you.

I have news for you a** hole. I fly and I studied meteorology and I teach
wilderness survival skills and I also do Search and Rescue I am also a part
of NJOEM and I have credentials, and a badge to show to anyone who tries to
tell me to go home. My job is to be out in any weather to rescue people. I
get pissed at times myself but I can control the words when writing letters,
so GO FU** YOURSELF!
My abrasive response:
Go auger into a cliff.
Apologies to the list in general,
Kurt
