[SixClub] RED CROSS Background checks

I am not a member of Red Cross, but I am of the Salvation Army.
The ARRL and The Red Cross just agreed to get RID of the financial
background checks. That is an improvement. Now what is left is Name, SSN,
and Criminal Background Checks. Which by the way is the same as if you were
getting checked to drive a school bus.

Frankly, I am glad that these organizations check that there isn't a
pedophile, a murderer, or a cop-killer in amongst my co-volunteers.
If that means that an occasional records-mistake is found and someone gets
banned that shouldn't be - temporarily - at least you have a chance to find
this out before you get a speeding ticket and get hauled off to jail.
Do we really want a few bad-volunteers to ruin the reputation of an entire
volunteer organization?

Personally, I go to the Louisiana State Off of Emergency Communications to
help out.
