That is the key "invasion of personal financial records".

Unless they are doing work that requires a high-level security
clearance then that sounds unnecessary.

If they do have rare cases requiring that level of clearance
then they should have two-tiers of volunteers and the background
check should reflect that.

The Red Cross has a checkered history of leaders who have abused
their authority, misspent funds, and otherwise mismanaged their
resources and special access.

It may be time for a new hard look at what they are doing, how
they are doing it, and why.
