I suggest you don't go with the Ameco 6N2 as the final tube is almost non-existence. I would suggest the SX-101 with converters, in the 50s - 60s I worked several stations with the NC-270 and a few with the SX-140, I have used and don't recommend the R-5, NC-173, SX-71 for use on 6 without using a converter. I have also used and recommend the the NC-300 with converters and the HQ-180 withe converters.
My first 6 meter station was a Johnson 6N2 with Eico modulator and HB power supply. Receiver was a HQ-100 with a Ameco converter. I also had used a S-40B with a ameco converter.
