Though SSB has a 10+db advantage over FM, the MUF issue is also true. I
have tried running
FM while the band is open with another station on 50.150...and it was no
go but we could
comm on USB ok (weak but ok)...
Tried to go to 52.5 SSB and sure enough, MUF was not that high...could
not work each other......I have seen the SSB portion be open...and 50.4
was even DEAD (AM OR SSB!)
