If you want to use a wire j-pole, you should be able to support it with a 
telescoping fishing pole. These will fit in a suitcase when not extended. They 
can be bought at most sporting good stores fairly cheaply and come in various 
lengths (3 to 6 feet or more).A roll of tape (duct or electrical) can be used to 
fasten the whole thing to a rail or some other type of "anchorage" at home, 
on an auto, boat, etc. Good luck.
