I never tried one but my antenna is by Maldol and is the MH-510 it works
pretty good and gets fair coverage. I travel alot and any extra weigh is
some times questioned in many places like Japan where the NW airlines claims
20 kilos is there limit.
I would love to love to carry a Icom 703 as my next carry all, but at the
same time I get nervous about some countries as they have rules towards
Radio's, like as example UAE. They confiscated my Icom 730 and got a little
paranoid when they saw a microphone thinking I had a CB inside. I now carry
only a Yaesu Vx5R.
