[SignalOne] Did Signal/One make any money?

All,

   I saw a picture of the Signal/One development/test area.  Don't know 
if it was Florida or California.  Highly paid engineers in white shirts 
& slacks sitting at racks of expensive equipment.

..And all of this supported by sales of 1100 radios.

Figure 3000 per radio ( prices surely increased during the go-go 70's ), 
that's 3.3 million dollars over a 12
year period.  Or 275K per year, averaged.  Chicken feed.

Must have been a labor of love.  They sure weren't making any money.  
I'm thankful that they did it.
