Folks
First of all let me say that the discussions on the reflector the past
few weeks have really made me happy. I hope that they continue. There's
a lot of questions and information out there. We've just got to match
the two.
I've finally found some time to clean up and update the web site. We
moved our residence over the Summer and I think that I've finally
unpacked all the information I need to start up again. My apologies to
those who received CDs/Answers/e-mails late. I should be caught up by
now.
With that, I'd like to announce that, in addition to correcting a lot of
errors and missing files, I've up loaded new Technical Notes and a
(Preliminary) CX11A annotated manual. This is an updated version of the
original CX11A manual.=20
Paul Kollar W8CXS corrected and annotated the original CX7A and CX11
&=A0CX11A manuals many years ago.=A0He also added many explanatory =
drawings
and notes to make it easier to understand how to repair the radios and
where the manufacturing error were. Paul Kluwe W8ZO published these
manuals over the years.
I took the CX11A manual and remastered it so that it appears as a new
document. I added W8CXS' checklist of errors/modifications and a few
other pages to fill it out.=20
This manual is a work in progress. Many sections have been remastered,
but some are not yet complete. Nothing has been left out of Paul's
original manual, it's just that some sections are not as clean as they
should be. Look for updates in the coming months to complete the manual.
I will also scan the CX7A/B manual for those interested parties and try
to have it on the web site over the holidays.
Be aware that the CX11A manual is about 32MB in size. The drawings are
all 11x17 in size, but if you print the complete manual from Acrobat,
they should shrink to fit and print on standard paper. The drawings were
scanned from multiply copied sheets, so they are not up to my normal
standards. I plan to include hi-res schematics in the future so you can
see what value that tiny capacitor really is.
For those who have slow network connectivity, or simply don't want to
spend days downloading the manuals, send me $2 and I'll mail back a CD
of the site. Nothing fancy, I'll just mass duplicate a bunch of the CDs.
As usual, comments and suggestions are welcome. And for those who have
forgotten how to get to the web site:
