Here's a nice resource if you want to find out about actual conditions
in various local sites, rather than at the local airport.  Nevada DOT
has Roadway Weather Information System (RWIS) stations throughout the
state.  They are a great resource if you're planning a trip, east or
west.

The Northeast Nevada page will be a good resource for the Pony Express.

The Northwestern Nevada page has sites all up and down 395 and in the
Tahoe Basin, as well as Spooner Summit, Mount Rose Summit, and Washoe
Valley, if you are interested in the wind up there.  They aren't always
functional, but there is usually one working nearby.
