[ScanIndiana] Problems with the Pro-96

He's smoking something really good!!!  R/S has not released the "program
package" for us to program a 92 for use...  The store package is to program
all of the computer programmable scanners...  They claim the store package
is backordered indefinitly at this time...  He should have received the memo
on this 2 weeks ago...  The part number for the customer cable is 200-0289
and is coming soon...  They were limited in supply...  This is a GRE
cable/package...  I am sure your store manager was referring to the customer
packaged unit...  The stores will not be able to flash these, if its ever an
option on the radio...  The Pro94 and 94a were the same way, they were sent
to the Ft. Worth repair facility to be updated...  There was one center in
Vermont that was capable of doing the update as well...  The store program
cable and package will run the store 189 bucks whenever they are
available...  I wouldn't hold my breath on phase 2 that is in the future for
many with this radio...  Its like a new car, next year, there will be more
options, bells, and whistles and it will do more for you...  You get what
you buy in todays market...  If you want newer, bigger, and better, you
might like to wait til the next model or the desk unit that is in the
works...  I'm looking at a sister to the 96 in features...
