This officer was correct in the stop... Section C of the statute listed is
very clear... This statute has not really been enforced prior to the movie
fast and furious... We now have a problem with these neon lights and their
colors... So when you enforce one, you have to enforce all... This statute
also covers blue lights inside the vehicle since you can not display a light
that is blue in color... I have run this through the court system, and its
good every time... May sound like a waste of time, but most of the fire
guys/gals are proud of their colors...
(c) A person who is not a member of a volunteer fire department may not
display an illuminated blue light on a vehicle.
Another one more specific on running boards...
IC 9-19-6-18
Fender lamps; running-board courtesy lamps; back-up lamps
Sec. 18. (a) A motor vehicle may be equipped with not more than two (2) side
cowl or fender lamps that emit an amber or a white light without glare.
(b) A motor vehicle may be equipped with not more than one (1) running-board
courtesy lamp on each side that emits a white or an amber light without
glare.
(c) A motor vehicle may be equipped with not more than two (2) back-up lamps
either separately or in combination with other lamps. However, a back-up
lamp must not be lighted when the motor vehicle is in forward motion.
As added by P.L.2-1991, SEC.7.
Hope this clears the air a bit for ya...
