Subject: blue lights on running board

Indiana code is available online on Access Indiana at
www.state.in.us/legislative/ic/code. Indiana code 36-8-12-11(c) states that
a person who is not a member of a volunteer fire department may not display
an illuminated blue light on a vehicle. However, the state of this law is
somewhat unsettled. There is a case from the Indiana Court of Appeals,
February 2003 in which a Lake Superior Court found that blue neon lights
around the license plate were not a violation of the statute. The case is
State v. Howell, 782 N.E.2d 1066. The Court of Appeals did not rule on the
issue of the blue lights. You may consult private legal counsel regarding
this matter.

Also Got this which Makes it more clear , Thank You David Diehl from this Group

This officer was correct in the stop... Section C of the statute listed is
very clear... This statute has not really been enforced prior to the movie
fast and furious... We now have a problem with these neon lights and their
colors... So when you enforce one, you have to enforce all... This statute
also covers blue lights inside the vehicle since you can not display a light
that is blue in color... I have run this through the court system, and its
good every time... May sound like a waste of time, but most of the fire
guys/gals are proud of their colors...

  (c) A person who is not a member of a volunteer fire department may not
display an illuminated blue light on a vehicle.

Another one more specific on running boards...
