I have heard many references to a "RIT team", or something like that, =
when monitoring working fires.  What is this?

Rapid Intervention Team...  Also known as a "red team"...  One of the =
newer OSHA requirements is that a department has an emergency crew =
waiting to enter if something goes bad...  I completed and acted as part =
of our RIT team up here and was only called upon one time...  One thing =
you know at a scene, if it goes bad, you WILL be going in at that time...
