[ScanIndiana] SCANNER HELP

Well since the list is getting busy with scanner questions... I love it!.. I
have one..
Anyone had a Radio Shack 2046??
Lightning damage killed my old buddy the BC 600, 100 ch mobile Uniden, an
old old but grreat scanner with Preamp and tone boards..

I got a 2046 on ebay, fixed it when arrived(long story.. another buyer
beware) but it works fine now...

except it has a nasty annoying squelch noise after EVERY transmission
stop... and that squelch noise many times is twice as loud as the audio.
When you turn it up on a busy time..the multiple   "shoosh!" noises after
every short trasnmission sounds more like a game or something..

Just wonder if anyone had a comment or easy fix
