You are so right! Trunking is a way for emergency
personal to communicate effectively in real-life
situations. My beef with the 800Mhz systems is
the in-effectiveness of that frequency to to be
used in large buildings in cities such as Boston.
Trunking can be utilized in any part of the
spectrum. From my perspective the 400Mhz
frequiencies should have been used with trunking
systems because of the freq's ability to transmit
and be heard in buildings. If you talk to the
people who have service contracts with cities
that have the trunked system you will get a
different perspective and maybe a scowling
scorned look. After all if you question someones
"cash-cow" you will be looked at as a "trouble
maker". As a tax payer I feel and see the "bite"
in my retirement check getting bigger each
