[Scan-DC] Laguardia crash question

I think I heard on the news that a transmission intended for the fire 
truck was "stepped on."
That can happen if the tower was communicating with aircraft using 
AM, but fire trucks these days use either FM or digital.
Do the Laguardia fire trucks have AM radios as well as digital??
