[Scan-DC] Is Anyone even using CB anymore?

Not to continue to beat a "dead horse" but a couple ideas came to me in 
regard to CB usage in the National Capital Region.

1) Maybe we should pick a channel and do some testing to determine how well 
we can cover the area.  It's been ages, and I am looking to dust off my old 
radio and give it a try... although I need a new base station antenna (any 
suggestions?).

2) Also an option, which might be more reliable, is GMRS.  Do we have any 
friends who would give us access for a repeater or allow us to use an 
existing GMRS repeater?  The Chinese radios are so inexpensive, we can 
operate on one of those repeaters for about $40.

3) We have been slowly building up the users on the Scan-DC Zello group for 
incident notifications.  Please give it a try if you are interested.  If 
there is enough interest, we could start another channel just for general 
radio discussion.
