I think Jeff is correct. The GRE PSR800
And Whistler 1080 are almost the same radio (1080 has some newer chips, so updates won't work on PSR800). If you want [TDMA or Phase II] you will need one of these or Uniden HP2, 436 or 536

</div>Well, with all the talk of Radio Shack going away, it's gotten me thinking about the PRO 652 - I have a PRO-197, but if the price is right...

What I'm not clear about is what the difference in the two are... will the 651/652 receive some of the newer technology systems, such as the P 25 Phase 2 - I want to say TDMA but I think it's some other kind of DMA (FDMA!)... in other woids, do I really need one of these?

I'll try to do a little digging but it's often quicker to just poll the collective knowledge of this list!


I never thunk it would happen, but technology is beginning to get by me!
