Ed:
Rather than start a long dissertation on this list serve, I suggest you go to
www.radioreference.com which is the single largest gathering of scanner
enthusiasts, hams and related hobbiests.  You can look in the forums and find
pro & con info on almost every scanner made.  Of particular interest to you
would be the Uniden and GRE forums, as they are the most popular scanners in the
$500 range.

If you want more info, hit me off-line.

Subject: [Scan-DC] Best Scanner for the Money?

Hi Group,

I've not been active in the scanning community for quite some time, and I'm
starting to get the urge to jump back into the hobby.  What I would like to
obtain is the group's opinon  on what is the best frequency scanner in the price
range of $500 or less; your experiences with the radios, etc.

Thanks, in advance,

Ed
