[Scan-DC] Crash last night

Hmmm, odd. I think the screeching must have come from the tires skidding on pavement, rather than from the brakes per se. Screeching tires, in a head-on collision, have just about gone the way of those ribbons of cassette tape that I used to see by the side of the road.
This must have been an older model car, as anti-lock brakes don't allow for much skidding in a head-on collision. Had the car been in a sideways skid, the screeching is still possible, but would not a snowy road have suppressed that sound?
Enquiring minds....

There was a car crash last night in front of my house on Old Baltimore Road at 1:20am. I heard the screeching brakes and then the impact.
