Thanks DK. It was very unnerving. I knew she was in shock. To bad she seemed
like a nice girl. He was a jerk. He showed no concern for her at all. His
air bag went off, but hers was not visible, so either it did not deploy, or
it did and I could not see it. the car was totaled. I actually heard the car
racing up Old Baltimore Road and I thought here we go again, and then
brakes, next impact.

Wow, yeah, I heard that... must have been a mess. She was transported to
Suburban as a Priority 1 Category A... could hear her screaming in the back
of the medic unit as the paramedic was giving his report... pretty
unnerving. I think she had two broken lower legs as well. I seem to
remember that her vital signs were pretty stable though... she was pretty
beat up but I suspect that she'll make a full recovery, but I would imagine
it will be awhile.
As you know, he was less seriously injured but was taken to Suburban as
well, he was a Priority 2. There had been a couple of working fires that I
had listened to and I was dozing when all this went down and started to drop
off again as it was winding up, so I don't remember some of the details, but
I think it took about 20 mins to get her out... and I think both of them may
have been under 21, but not sure.
You may have heard also, there was a pretty big fire in an apartment down on
Hewitt Avenue in Aspen Hill that was going on at about the same time
(dispatched at 0002 I think) and some of the units from your area were
probably on that... I forget who ran the Old Baltimore Road call, but some
of them may have been units that were transferred from other stations.
Prior to that there was a working house fire on Margate Road in the Four
Corners area; that had pretty well been cleared up by the time the Hewitt
Ave call went out.
I haven't seen or heard anything more about it in the news today.
